0:00 - 0:10 Radio clicks on (I'm thinking trebled 40's - 50's music at low volume) Fan noise, footsteps 0:10 - 0:12 Fan noise much quieter, footsteps pause, the dog whimpers just a little, not like a high pitched one a low end "errrmp" he wants food. The footsteps have paused because the old man turned to look as he sits down. 0:12 - 0:15 We hear the old man sit in his chair and the food dish rattle a bit. The radio is quieter now, perceivbly across the room 0:15 - 0:26 Very quiet spoon against teeth noise, etc ambience continues 0:26 - 0:29 This is where we are looking down the ceiling. All ambience is even quieter from up here 0:29 - 0:31 rattle tink, the tray is throw down at the dogs bed, the dog pants happily, the old man smiles (I really like this part) 0:31 - 0:33 but the old man, he's not actually happy here, as he stands and we have the sounds for all that, some mid tier piano notes softly strike and some high end strings (quiet) fade in as he makes his way down the hall 0:37 - 0:45 the high strings hold nothing happens here except footsteps and the ambience from the fan, radio (very quiet now) 0:45 - 0:48 soft piano melody comes in here with the strings (ooohh I'm gunna like this part) 0:50 - 0:59 the old man presumably has been looking at a picture of his wife with himself? perhaps another relative I don't know :) but the dog, man dogs are great. The dog is there, he's real and not gone, not like all those pictures of long forgotten times. The piano stops and the strings fade out, the dog pants, the old man pets him. 1:01 - 1:09 the old man sees himself as a pilot in the past, the music totally changes here, a rising chorus of great victory a full orchestra with horns. The kind of determinated music you'd find in the beginning scenes of a real adventure movie. 1:10 - 1:27 the orchestra hushes a little, you can hear crickets, we pan over and then swoop up the driveway and the driving still tame orchestra gets louder, and louder (but sitll not loud) then it all goes out to nothing. just the crickets. Now the garage door opens, we pan over the top of it. The thumping orchestra fades back in, we're still not sure what the mood of this music is but it's rising. The engine starts, the headlights blare through 1:27 - 1:41 the car pulls out, we can hear the engine idling, the music is now at full volume but still has no "purpose" the dog hops in with a leap 1:42 - 2:05 slowly the music rises, to a poweful triumph as the engine of the cars roars, takes out the fence and makes it's way down the hill. The propellers fire up making an almost gunshot like noise, of off he goes. I'm talking about the feeling you got the first time you watched back to the future or superman. Real orchestral power, the kind that makes you giggle inside 2;06 - 2:20 this is the loudest most potent part of the old man's victory. Up in the sky, flying his plane this is the REAL CHORUS! it all winds down to a quieter music and the sound of the propeller 2:21 - Fin I'd prefer just to fade the music out, and have nothing in the house but the radio, fan hear the popcan drop, I don't want to sadden the ending. I want this to feel uplifting.
